I'm somehow excited about this announcement. I own the Arrow release, which is fantastic, but I love the movie so much there's room for another edition in my collection. Besides, it's always nice to have a region-free copy of a title I already own.

I love this movie. I have am very satisfied with the Arrow release, but if this release proves a significant upgrade, I'd gladly buy it again.

This is a fun little movie that I used to see on TV all of the time when I was a kid. Not sure if I'll spring for the Blu-ray or not, but I'm intrigued.

Yeah, they got it a year too late as like the other comments, I have the Arrow release, but it certainly is feasible I could get this as well..It depends on the content and the PQ/AQ .. I love to support SF but when other studios are releasing the same movies that you want it causes a conflict for me.. Sometimes I get both

I just recently received my copy from the current Arrow sale, I haven't watched it yet though. It will be interesting to see what cover art they will come up with.

I am not region free so this is a nice surprise! I'm actually more surprised though that it is getting the Special Edition treatment, as I don't think it's that big of a title.

Geez, my parents took me and my sister to see this at a drive in with Viva Knieval! - they had NO IDEA what it was about and I might have been eight...

I rented Slugs on VHS back in the late 1980s when I was in high school, and I still have trouble eating salad lettuce to this day.

The jury is still out on whether or not I'll consider buying Squirm. I loved it when I was a kid, but this might be one of those example of the past belonging in the past.

Yeah, it's a bit odd. I mean, wouldn't Leviathan be a more obvious choice to get the CE treatment over Squirm?

That's still likely the version to own. Scream might be able to improve on the extras, which are solid if relatively slim, but there's no reason to think they will ever fix their compression/encoding problems. The head-to-head Arrow/Scream comparisons so far - Usher, Pendulum, Lifeforce, The Abominable Dr. Phibes - have all clearly favored Arrow, so there's really no reason to think this will be any different, unless Scream magically improve their quality control in the interim. That's not being a 'hater' or a 'troll', just making a reasonable assumption based entirely upon extensive and well-documented past history.
