I don't think they will go past just showing Stark with a drink in every scene. This will most likely be said as the last movie in a trilogy, so they will go out with Mandarin. I think it will be based on what The Avengers do.

It won't be alcoholism. It is a subject that Robert Downey Jr. and Justin Theroux said they are not going to touch.


I would love to see Fin Fang Foom. A tiny Iron Man facing off against a huge alien dragon would be awesome to see.

@ least w/all fo the other movies coming out, fav's will have a bit of a break from the ironman world.

hopefully he'll recharge himself and bang out a stellar script to cap off the trilogy!!

I dunno, I think with the right armaments and the help of War Machine, Iron Man should be able to give Fin Fang Foom a good fight.

And the idea that the technology came from an alien meteorite is even less likely.
Marvel tried to "audition" the Mandarin as an even more Mummy 3-style "ancient warlord" in the Lionsgate animated, and the attempt at mysticism fell pretty far from both the movie and comic canon.

I like the theme that they have set in keeping it tech based. It worked so well in both movies that I want it to continue despite the introduction of Thor. I wonder if this will get put into production quickly after The Avengers. Didn't Marvel plan on doing 4 movies a year at that point?

I'd love to see The Mandarin as the villain for the third film. I think Favs has alluded to him so much. Plus, he's Iron Man's biggest nemesis besides Crismon Dynamo.

marvel studios has just confirmed that "iron man 3" will be released in 2013. And now, director jon favreau tells mtv news that the third installment will need to finally introduce the mandarin character, a martial-arts expert who has superhuman powers that can tear apart iron man's suit with his bare hands.

"you've got to do the mandarin," favreau explained. "the problem with the mandarin is that the way it's depicted in the comic books, you don't want to see that. He has 10 magical rings — that just doesn't feel right for our [franchise]. So it's either tech-based, or the rings are not really rings. But maybe with 'thor' and all those others, you'll introduce magic to that world and it won't seem so out of place."

he added that it's too early to start thinking about the details of the third installment. "there's so much left to understand about what the world is going to be like then," said favreau. "you've got 'thor,' 'captain america,' 'avengers' all happening with different directors before 'iron man 3,' and that's all going to affect 'iron man 3.'"

Im curious as to how Iron Man will work individuelly post Avengers. Since Tony Stark is certain to be a main character in The Avengers as well you have to wonder why he would be off on his own again.
