Ugly Christmas Sweater Poster Art - Sony/iTunes Easter Egg? - Blu-ray Forum

As we were scrolling through our iTunes library on New Years Eve looking for something to watch, I noticed that The Fifth Element poster art looked very strange:

Then we saw the Ghostbusters poster art, and my son made the connection that they were "Ugly Christmas Sweater" parodies:

Also "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs" (both 1 and 2).

Out of just over 500 movies in my library, those are the only 4 that are updated. All Sony Pictures, so there's that pattern, at least.

Has anyone else noticed this? I'm not finding any mention of it when Googling for those titles, nor here on the forum that I can see.

Are there any other Sony titles in folks libraries that have this change?

Companies do this all of the time. There are more movies than the two you found, I don’t remember the titles, but did see a large group in the store. Titles will revert to old covers eventually.

These have not appeared in the Irish Store but Warner Bros. Do this kind of temporary art - but usually with the same movies each time.

It would be fun if the art and the iTunes Store it changed themes for the big holidays.

If you look in the US store you’ll see a whole section of ugly jumper artwork under the Own for $7.99 section.

Thanks - I had looked at the top level sale categories, but didn't scroll down to that $7.99 swimlane. I figured it was there somewhere!
