Default Black Rain (Ridley Scott)

Not enough love for this post BladeRunner action masterpiece. Not to mention the score.

Hey, I advocate for every Ridley Scott film to receive a 4K UHD. Im still waiting for:

-Black Rain
-Legend (directors cut)
-Kingdom of Heaven (directors cut)
-Thelma and Loiuse
-White Squall
-1492

This should happen as soon as possible, provided that it comes with a remastered Blu-ray.

-Black Rain
Might get a chance with the new Paramount Presents line, assuming the millennial twits in marketing have any brains. (It’s a stretch unfortunately)

-Legend (directors cut)
50/50 I’d say, Universal took a long time for the BD.

-Kingdom of Heaven (directors cut)
Fox / Disney... Who the hell knows.

-Thelma and Louise
MGM, pretty much screwed.

-White Squall
Touchstone/Disney... See MGM.

-1492

We can all dream… But it won't stop us from being grounded into the reef when Paramount dashes our dreams about titles you thought would be announced, but never happen...

1492 barely came out on DVD or BD.
Legend is also Fox in a few countries

Both Legend and 1492: Conquest Of Paradise would really benefit from a 4K remaster or UHD. All the BD's of 1492 basically used a dated master, I wonder if Paramount will ever bother doing a 4K scan of the film. Even if Kino Lorber has it they likely can release it themselves whenever they want.

I hope all of Ridley Scott's classics are getting 4K remasters.

I do think Black Rain has the best chance of getting a UHD or 4K remaster.

Black Rain will be day-one for me.

I know it is not highly rated, but it is one of my most watched film. It is up there with IJ & Temple of Doom, Die Hard and back to the future, for me, the "prefect" movies... love all the actors and their performance, love the music (like Zimmer's early works; much better than his recent works) and of course Ridley Scott's direction and visual design.

I would love to see Black Rain in 4K. I've held off buying the Blu because of it's dated transfer.

The lack of a decent BR update does probably make a UHD release a bit more likely I'd guess since you have more pent up demand. Whilst perhaps a bit less well known it doesn't feel so far away from the kind of films that have been getting UHD releases from that era either, relatively mainstream appeal in style and visuals likely to benefit from the format.
