Woody Allen's Mighty Aphrodite (1995) has received a preliminary release date for the Gallic markets: May 4th. Winner of Oscar for Best Actress in a Supporting Role (Mira Sorvino).

Lenny and Amanda have an adopted son Max who turns out to be brilliant. Lenny becomes obsessed with finding Max's real parents because he believes that they too must be brilliant. When he finds that Linda Ash is Max' real mother, Lenny is disappointed. Linda is a prostitute and porn star. On top of that, she is quite possibly the dumbest person Lenny has ever met. Interwoven is a Greek chorus linking the story with the story of Oedipus.

All of the titles that were set to be released in May have been delayed (not canceled).

Pro-B, do you have any idea how long the May releases in France have been delayed? Also, why have all French releases been delayed?

I am told that there will be multiple delays on various titles from different distributors because of the tragedy in Japan. (Yesterday, for example, I was told that two Gaumont titles have been pushed for June). But I really do not know what new dates are considered for these releases. I will do my best to keep updating the threads.

Thanks for the info Pro-B! My order with Amazon.fr finally shipped today (there was only one May title) so I'm very happy! Can't wait to check out the French releases and will hopefully pick up some more in the future.

I never bought the French blu-ray of 'Mighty Aphrodite' so can't answer that unfortunately.
