Default TCL 55p607 tv flashing and other oddities.

I know this TV is getting to be a relic and I want to be able to get a new one soon. But I have to deal with this for now. When I'm watching something, this TV will flash bright really quickly periodically. Also, in dark scenes, the corners of the TV will pulsate these light blobs that flicker around in the dark areas. It is very annoying and distracting. It can't be something in the settings. Is this TV really this bad?

It appears that the panel has gone bad. The overall cost to replace the panel including the parts and labor, is going to cost more than the price of buying a new TV. Personally, I wouldn't consider having it repaired, it's best to wait until you have enough money to buy a new one. 55" TVs are very affordable, especially the budget TVs such as: TCL, Vizio and Hisense. You can get a 55" or bigger for $300.00-$400.00. If you don't have the money available right now, maybe you can borrow it from someone, or apply for credit if you have a good credit history and score and if not, now is the time to try getting some credit established. Credit is very important because there are many things in life that a person cannot apply for, if they don't have a credit history. The worse thing a person can do is to pay for everything in cash because, it doesn't determine a person's reliability on paying their bills.

I had s similar issue not so long ago with my 55p605,, ( i'm assuming its back lights went out) had no picture but audio.
Instead of paying to get it fixed ,we ended up buying and upgrading to a 65 R646 for $799.
Very happy with the decision!!

I bought the 65 inch R646. The picture is much better but now I am having issues with the PS5. Sometimes the image appears darker than other times. I've tried different settings on both the tv and console. But sometimes it'll look really bright and sometimes it looks darker. And even a little dim. I don't know if it has something to do with 120hz mode or VRR. Or if the HDR on PS5 doesn't play nice with this tv. But I can notice it too when the gray HDMI box shows up in the top right when switching signals and the gray will get darker right in front of my eyes.
