Eh a little late... I already bought the German Blu-ray released a couple months back, which is maxed on a BD-50 and even offers optional English subs. There's a new Richard Chamberlain interview included also.
Olive's Blu-ray of Allan Quatermain and the Lost City of Gold didn't even have English subs as an option, so it will be interesting to see if this sequel does, and/or includes the Chamberlain interview. |

How's the Chamberlain interview? He says something funny about Sharon Stone in the Electric Boogaloo documentary, something like, "Sharon's very smart and she loves to talk about how smart she is."

I believe the reason why Allan Quatermain and the Lost City of Gold was on Blu first because that had an older HD master (used for the MGM DVD release) ready to go. Whereas King Solomon's Mines (1985 ver) only had an old SD master available, which used for the non-anamorphic DVDs. It seems MGM recently made a new master of KSM (evidenced by the German BD) and Olive happened to obtain US videogram rights since they allready released the sequel.

Where's the 1950 best version with Stewart Granger and Deborah Kerr? That would be something to be excited about.

Definitely picking this one up, just hoping it'll have a few special features considering it's almost in the Twilight Times price point...but not holding my breath.
Such a fun movie that doesn't take itself seriously, not sure why everyone compares it to Indy aside from the treasure hunting aspect. This is one movie which i actually would put on just to listen to the Isolated Score track, Goldsmith did an amazing job imo! |

![]() http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Jerry-Goldsmi...3D152380397150 Even this guy selling it refers to it as the Indy rip-off hahah, KSM just doesn't get any respect. I just may settle for the single disc edition someday, but i've got enough JG in my scores collection to keep me entertained for now ![]() (I can see you're a big fan of the man too, there'll never be another like him!) |
