I was pretty disappointed with TRAIN TO BUSAN. A few fantastic set-pieces aside it was pretty bland, repetitive and predictable.

I loved it and thought it was great fun. It does just about anything with the "zombies in a train" premise that can be done. It's pretty high octane twenty minutes in, then manages the feat of escalating the thrills and action from there and it had characters I really cared about.

Just when I thought zombies had been thoroughly exhausted, two great zombie films came along in 2016, this one and The Girl With All the Gifts.

I'll definitely give it a rent before deciding on a purchase.

I've heard nothing but great things.

The best zombie movie in a very long time. One of my favorite movies of the year too. Just a really fun time. This is for sure a day 1 buy

I'm not a zombie fan, but this sounds intriguing.

Can't wait this was an instant zombie classic.

In my top 3 of the year at this point in time.

Just watching The Wailing last night(very good film), and saw a preview for this. Looks very good!
At first glance, it strikes me as 28 Days Later meets WWZ.

Yeah, that's actually not a bad comparison. I've seen people say it's Snowpiercer meets 28 Days Later.

Just got back from seeing this and absolutely loved it. A lot of fun, some great action, good comedy, and surprisingly good character development for a movie. Definitely going to be grabbing this one. Highly recommend it.

If you guys are not getting this until January, I might as well wait and get the U.K version, it's only one more month to wait (Feb) thought I read somewhere it would be sooner in US?
Like many, I have heard good things about this.

Default Not a good experience

The first scene looked interesting
[Show spoiler](animal zombie, yeah)
, but the film turned out to be the worst Korean production I've ever seen.
[Show spoiler]The constant "little girl and pregnant woman in peril" was grating. Guess who survives at the end

I for one found Train to Busan exciting and, in the end, heartbreaking despite its tropes. The little girl was wonderful and she really sold me on how genuinely upset she got towards the end of the story.

I agree with lothda above, it was a shame the first zombie instance seen in the movie wasn't explored further, but the CGI budget would have skyrocketed to include more of that (not to mention perhaps exposing some less-than-believable animal animation).

I thought it was pretty good, until the end on the train,
[Show spoiler] when the old rich guy was a zombie train driver. The hero had a chance to push the zombie off the train (you can even see when the old guy has almost completely turned, and he's outside of the train engine with the hero, there's a gap in the guard rail). Instead of pushing him off, what did he do? He just said "you're already infected", hesitated and then struggled with the fully transformed zombie, which lead to him being bitten.
That ending was a farking joke that wrecked the film for me.
[Show spoiler]I love depressing endings, but hey, Korean Cinema! You can have a happy ending, and it doesn't have to be sucky! The unhappy ending here sucked due to how we got there.
