I loved it and thought it was great fun. It does just about anything with the "zombies in a train" premise that can be done. It's pretty high octane twenty minutes in, then manages the feat of escalating the thrills and action from there and it had characters I really cared about.
Just when I thought zombies had been thoroughly exhausted, two great zombie films came along in 2016, this one and The Girl With All the Gifts. |

I for one found Train to Busan exciting and, in the end, heartbreaking despite its tropes. The little girl was wonderful and she really sold me on how genuinely upset she got towards the end of the story.
I agree with lothda above, it was a shame the first zombie instance seen in the movie wasn't explored further, but the CGI budget would have skyrocketed to include more of that (not to mention perhaps exposing some less-than-believable animal animation). |
