Interesting. Is this going to be from the same source as the older BFI disc in the UK? That one I believe was inferior to the later released transfers from Eureka, and Flicker Alley, which used a restoration from Lobster.

This seems like it'll use the BFI master, but it has all the supplements from the UK Masters of Cinema release.

The US Flicker Alley and UK MoC editions use the same source restoration, but Flicker Alley's (actually Lobster Films) has terrible encoding due to stuffing all the films onto a single BD-50 while Moc spread them out across two BD-50s. BFI's is from a lower quality source as only the Lobster version went back to an original print.

Unless you want the Nyman score, this release is kind of redundant if you own the MoC set.

The BFI also has additional supplements and other films e.g. One Sixth of the World that are not present on the Eureka release.

I ADORE the Nyman score though.

The Cinematic Orchestra did a different score that’s out there on DVD/CD as well.

I like the Alloy Orchestra score too much to settle for another release.

Going by the screen caps on DVD Beaver, it's dark, scratched up, and missing a huge chunk of image at the left (not to mention the Alloy Orchestra score). I can't see any anyone would pay money for this edition.
