Default I have a cable connection question

My neighbor has asked me to help her.

She has an old VCR player with composite RCA outs.

Will this work? RCA cable from the VCR to her AV receiver and then from the receiver, an HDMI cable to the TV.

Work?

Two things come into play. The receiver needs to have the correct inputs, that’s the obvious bit so I assume it has.

However, I don’t believe all receivers would convert that to HDMI, and instead would just send it out over the receivers analogue video outputs. The receiver needs to have a built in analogue to digital video convertor for it to send an analogue video input out over HDMI.

So you need to know the model and check that against it’s full specs.
