The king of enterteinment and blockbusters or the auteur of surrealism. Two vastly different directors who were influential in their own.
Which body of work do you prefer? |

What’s even the point of a thread like this other than to stir **** up. They’re literally nothing alike.

I prefer Spielberg's films and directing style to Lynch's.

Lynch, obviously. This isn't even a serious question.
Spielberg is a rank amateur in comparison. It's like comparing Mozart to a five year old struggling to play Chopsticks on a Xylophone. Lynch is a master, and every Lynch film a masterclass. Especially Blue Velvet, possibly the single greatest film that will ever be made. |

this is kind of unfair;
One- *Has directed the highest grossing film of all times (multiple times)(Jaws, E.T., Jurassic Park) *Has directed 16 films that grossed pass $100 million at domestic box office, more than anyone in film history. *Has had his own major film studio. (DreamWorks SKG) *Has one of the most successful production company in film history. (Amblin Ent.) *Has the most recognizable name in film history. *Has a net worth of $3.738 billion (2021) The other- Has none of that. ![]() ![]() |
