Default Cex selling blu rays with printed out covers.

I know this isn't a new thing for them but it drives me nuts. Cex selling blu rays or games with printed out covers instead of the proper ones, what the ****. I ordered these two online, and its just awful, they're ugly, I'm extremely annoyed about it.

I'm glad I'm not too fussed about CEX.

I'll have a quick look in passing, but I've only bought something from them once - Arnie's Sabotage with slipcover for £3.

I worked in a store some time ago, and the rule then was any item with a printed cover was not allowed to be sent out. They were purely for in-store sales, as the customer would know what they were getting. This was probably an error!

I've only ever used them once. Some bugger on here said they had mint copies of Dreamgirls on BD, which they did and I ordered one. Few months later and they were hacked.

I hate their piss scented shops and never go in them.

In the Liverpool CEX it's almost always exclusively Disney films with the copied covers. There are other obviously, more than there should be, It drives me mad.

Although alternatively, I was convinced that the copy of The Squid and the Whale had a copied cover and when I checked it against a sealed one in HMV, no it was real, just a shocking printing job lol...

My local branch has a number of these on their shelves, though all of the photocopied covers are in colour, so you don't really notice until you take a closer look (they've even got a copy of Arrow's Lifeforce with one that they want £20 for!).

Not something I'm ever going to buy, especially as they're the same price as the proper versions. I would like to know where they got so many clear Arrow-style amaray cases to put them in though...

They're infuriating....blu-rays in dvd cases and printed covers...quite often at more than you would pay for a brand new pristine sealed copy.
I've had a few good deals at CEX but this practise is just sloppy....
I always check the inside of the cover for the tell-tale CEX stamp....but you
can usually tell a mile off anyway....

Never really noticed before in my local branch. Where do they get them from? Are they buying from people that have printed their own covers?

I assume they photocopy them instore.

Odd how the penny hasn't dropped that the copyright extends to the cover artwork as well.

They're happy to buy discs without cases, so I guess when they do that, they just grab a spare case and print a copy of the cover.

I've seen both Blu-rays, DVD and CDs with photocopied covers in my local stores.
My first thought is that they were counterfeit and should not be selling them.

I got a result last week in CEX, sold them my two year old Samung Galaxy mobile, got £51 for it, only cost me £64 originally

I've asked about that in the past and was told they must have the case before being bought.

So someone is fiddling something

I had a copy of amazing spider-man blu ray that I bought from them for a couple of quid with a printed out cover, tried to trade it back to them and they said they didn't buy things without the correct cover.

******s.

I remember sending them Star Trek Enterprise season 1 DVD (Capsule edition) for trade, they sent it back saying a faulty disc....except they didn't return my copy, but rather one off their shelf complete which was in terrible condition with price sticker and all.

I'd send them back OP, CeX offer free returns via Collect Plus or Royal Mail Freepost.
https://uk.webuy.com/support/wesellhelp.php#returns

Stick a note inside politely asking for a replacement with the real cases and it should be fine. Quite a few DVDs I've ordered in the past have come like this.

in store having printed covers is one thing but they should be drastically reduced in price for original disc only sales.

selling these online is disgusting
