PS5 doesn't play Dolby TrueHD 7.1

Hi,

I was visiting my brother, because he just purchased PS5 and we put Godzilla KoM 4k to check how it will be like on PS5, btw his Sony home theater doesn't support Dolby Atmos, so naturally it will play Dolby TrueHD via bitstream, but instead it played the Dolby Digital 5.1 track, and when changed the audio output to play the TrueHD track the two rear speakers went mute!!

P.S: We tried the 1080p BD and it plays the Dolby TrueHD 7.1 perfectly!

Getting Dolby Atmos on PS5

Does your brother have a Dolby Atmos / DTS:X compatible A/V receiver?

No, his home theater (Sony BDV-N9200W) doesn't support Dolby Atmos. I mentioned that in my original post, so I expected the receiver to play TrueHD instead!

Check the video - it shows where to go to in the playstation to change the output to Bitstream. It defaults to PCM which means the avr won't see it as TrueHD by default.
