I hope the landscape is less linear in this new one, and a lot less wolves to gang up on the player every few yards. Will wait for reviews to learn more. I know some who love the first game.

In my top ten games of all time.

The first one took all the best bits from Skyrim (lets be honest there weren't many. Skyrim is the most overrated game in history), Monster Hunter and The Witcher.

This is the game I'm really looking forward to.

It's surprising that the pawn system was never taken up by any other developer.

Looking forward this too, never played the original, but the animations and combat looks very fluid in the trailers so far. Definitely need some good fantasy RPG in my life.

That's cool. I have the game (Dragon's Dogma: Ascension on PS4 I think it's called) and got about 5% through the missions but then was distracted by other games. I haven't seen a fraction of what the game offers later on, and could jump back into it in the future with more time.

The game’s director Hideaki Itsuno posted this, hopefully that means the game hits at least 48fps so VRR will kick in.

Reminded me why I hate character creators. Way too complicated and after so much time fiddling it still looks more lifeless and homely than characters the devs can make. I didn't even find the muscle category before I gave up. Worse than the original game's creator.

The combat was interesting and the variety of characters, a good range in the PS4 upgraded version I played. I wandered down to the store and I think there was a big giant monster waiting.

The worst character creator options I've probably seen in a game would go to WWE2k22 from the disc without updates. I just wanted to change the eye color and instead of an option for both eyes, I had to adjust each eye individually. There was literally no visible option to adjust it. But that was from the disc version without an update, so that probably was the unfinished version of that game.

As far as character creators like in Elden Ring for example, trying to create a face that didn't look like it was made of clay was very difficult. It can only be changed so much and was very limited, as many of the character creators tend to be.

I thought Fallout 4 had a good character creator with some better range.

I haven't tried this game yet, so am not sure how it will be. I used to spend an hour+ in character creation but not enough time these days. I rather just start playing the game after a brief creation of something.

After seeing the abominations players created in SF6, I expected this to be the same. Perhaps someday games will give us access to MetaHuman or equivalent.

The framerate on this is making me really cautious. I’m going to play rise of the ronin first. Wait a little bit on this one and see how it turns out.

Tried again, still homely after too long fiddling. I'll just use a guide. Don't like the voices either. Forgot. None of them sound right, because they're synthesized (one voice digitally edited). Character creation is stupid.

Say what you want about the new Leon, Clair, Ada, Chris, Ashley, Jill, Luis, etc. (I mostly prefer their old designs. Looked more like faces that only exist in the medium, even though some were actually scanned.) But any of them still look better than the faces that take you two hours to build in a character creator.

I personally would prefer a more robust character creator than some of the basic stuff we get, just because that allows you to make almost any character you want, but i completely understand the overwhelming choices to select from and sometimes the default options not always giving a good enough choice.

Regarding iconic and existing characters like Leon, Claire etc. i feel that the RE design updates didn't always fully land for me tbh. I felt the RE2 original model looked much younger and the remake made her look older and different. Think they did a damn good job with Jill Valentine and Leon worked too. Same with Ada Wong. Chris Redfield largely worked but they already had an updated design from RE5fl for him and Leon with RE4 alongside Ada.

Personally i think this games shaping up well, and the fact you seem to be able to customise down to the individual tooth is hilarious. Plus, they released the creator knowing you can spend hours if you want and its a neat marketing gimmick imo.

Apparently, two classes were added and two were removed, for no net gain. There is a third, but it's to help your pawn, so no one will use it. There are supposedly only four new monster types.

I kind of don't like Itsuno. He only does iteration. Dante is a mess, thanks to building more and more on top of the DMC3 system. I don't know who I should blame more: the fans who always want more of the same or Itsuno.

Good reviews. I have the Demo downloaded at 4.8 GB about, but if it's just character creation, that's underwhelming.
