Any way to get a new code? Bought Spy Game on Amazon a week or 2 ago and went to sell the code but it was expired. I actually tried it and it did not work. I tried to email Universal with no luck. Any other tips/ideas? Thanks
EDIT: When I tried it...it actually did go through. I found out later when I was just checking a code or 2 on MA. I see Spy Game at the front of my list. Confused at first. Then i remembered. Last edited by TAC; 03-09-2021 at 09:02 AM. |

Since this is a MA title be sure to try redeeming it into Vudu, MA, and iTunes - there's an off chance not all portions of the code are expired (may still be live on iTunes but not Vudu, for example). Otherwise your best chance is contacting Universal directly with proof of purchase to see if they will give you a replacement code. It's likely you are out of luck.

That code expired over 4 years ago. Easiest thing to do is converting Mobile 2 Digital through Vudu. It's only $2.

The message you get is like a confirmation of what you sent. They'll reply within a week. However, with expired codes, they don't give you a new one, instead they'll let you chose another title from a list. Not great, but you do get a "free" movie.

Okay, yes it's a bit complicated, because the EXCEPTION to the codes do not expire thing: yes, some older Universal codes were allowed to expire (rather, they were not renewed like they used to be; most that were actually allowed to expire were the ones marked as having UV, but others were not expired and work in MA). HOWEVER: Quote:

Assume you have tried the universal website. As other have said I try several different systems. I've also sometimes had luck using or omitting the hyphens in the codes.
https://www.universalredeem.com/ I had several codes that didn't work long ago as they had expired. I've recently have tried 2 of them and gotten them to work even though they expired. I am legend from 2008 and code expired in 2009. Recently was able to get MA to take the code and WB redeem website also recognized it. WB saw it with and without the hyphens. MA only recognized it if I omitted the hyphens. What's odd with this title is the code was for the disc digital copy from years ago. Where you put your digital disc in the activate it, enter the code and download the movie to your PC as a standalone movie. So I was very surprised I got this to work 11 years after it expired (per note on the code sheet). I'm now going to have to go back and find all the expired codes that didn't work and try them again. What sucks is I had a sheet with probably 30-40 movies where codes had expired and didn't work. I eventually threw it out. Wishing now I had kept it. |

Spy Game is too old of a blu-ray release for the digital code to be valid. The blu-ray (including the digital) was originally released 10 years ago, and there's no possible way that code could still be valid. If you contact Universal, all of their codes may be invalid as well due to the age of the release. Whomever you've sold the code to, you just may want to refund their money and forget about it because, it wouldn't be worth your time and effort and going through all the rigmarole trying to validate a 10 year old digital code.
