Whisper of the Heart is my favourite non-Miyazaki or Takahata Ghibli film, so I'm glad it's getting a Steel. I just wish the design was better, though. The imagery of the bike scene is nice, but the way the JP BD looks is way cooler. It's a beautiful cover- if Shout replicated that in Steelbook form, I'd probably buy it, even though I own the JP BD.

When did the Canadian release date get pushed to May 11, 2021? I can't find any kind of announcement from GKIDS

I can only speak for the area I live at but the only store near me that had the steelbook was Target

Maybe my eyes are off but the color of this one is almost identical to Kiki’s Delivery Service. I can’t tell them apart to be honest. I held both under different light sources, even went outside and I’m not seeing any difference.

There have been multiples in the series already that are the same color. The mock-up images have been off this entire wave.

Yeah, but I can see the difference in Howl’s, Mononoke, and Spirited Away. Kiki and this one I can’t.

A new bit of fun today: Amazon decided it made sense to combine my order for these two steelbooks with a separate order for...a set of Allen wrenches. Toss them all in a thin bubble envelope, and they're good to go! Amazingly, only one of the steels was damaged. (The wrenches were fine.)

I agree. The others were slightly different even if they were all "red," but this one and Kiki are exactly the same color.

Kind of disappointing if there are going to be repeated colors in this series. I was expecting a whole range of different colors on the shelf.

i havent seen mine since its arriving today but if what you say is true that is a pretty big bummer, more so about the fact the product page images clearly show different colors. I don't MIND if they use the same colors even though i'd prefer different ones but this was clearly advertised as different.

I wanted to watch these this week but amazon delivered me someone elses order, so i've had to go through the returns and I think the new blu-rays will come tomorrow.

There is no way I'd order anything delicate from Amazon. Their packaging has gone significantly downhill over the last several years.

My personal favorite was when I ordered a $300+ set of books and they placed it a box almost twice its size with no padding whatsoever.

I've ordered all of the steelbooks in this series from RightStuf and they've all been fine except one which looked to have an issue during production.

Both can be purchased in store too. I saw them over the weekend. Mine removed Spirited Away and Castle in the Sky for these recent two.
