Default Christopher Nolan In Talks With Marvel To Direct

https://www.giantfreakinrobot.com/en...an-marvel.html

Christopher Nolan has had talks with the powers-that-be at Marvel Studios to direct a film. Our source could not say what particular project this could be, but only that there has been some kind of meeting between Nolan and the studio.

Whether or not this is a good idea is a much larger conversation, but it is worth pointing out that this could be a bit of retaliation on the part of Christopher Nolan and Marvel Studios. Nolan has been openly upset with Warner Bros. after it was announced that their entire 2021 theatrical slate would be available on HBO Max the same day as the movies opened in theaters. Many have assumed that this has signaled the end of the director’s working relationship with the studio. With one of the most celebrated directors possibly on the outs with his studio of choice, Disney could potentially be tempting Christopher Nolan with the promise of collaboration and might be offering him a blank check movie in return for putting his name onto their most successful film franchise, the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

----------------------------------------

Raimi already has Multiverse of Madness. Which film could Nolan be discussing?

Doubt it. Marvel Studios doesn't allow enough creative freedom for Nolan's liking. That's not me being biased, that's a fact. Marvel and Nolan will off the bat will disagree on how the film should be shot, from what kinda cameras to use, coloring, and pacing. And that's not even half of it. That's why Marvel hires unknown directors all the time, because they are easier to control.

Lol, If the WB/HBOmax thing is the reason Nolan is going to Disney/Marvel then he's a moron because Disney is doing the same thing as WB by putting their movies in theaters and on Disney+ except they charge an extra $30 from their subscribers.

Lmao this will never happen.

Marvel mandates all of their projects are shot digitally.

Close this thread and throw it into the trash.

Disney's subpar audio on physical disc and Nolan's penchant for drowned out character dialogue would be a match made in cinematic heaven.

Yup. Nolan has admitted that he is color-blind and would rather focus on detail than color (that's why his films look the way they do). MCU movies do not focus on detail. Most of them still use 2K digital cameras and use some blur to hide the iffy effects. I'm not being anti-Marvel, there is no way Nolan's style works within the MCU.

I don't believe it but also I don't need a long boring Nolan marvel movie that is nothing but a 2 hour exposition dump.

5 of the last 8 Marvel films have used ARRI 65 or Large Format. Black Widow, Eternals, and Shang-Chi are using/used Large Format.

I can imagine if Nolan had directed the first Iron Man.

Tony Stark: "I am Iron Man"

Audience: "what did he say?"

This will never happen.

And if Marvel hired him, they would have for the first time a competent director that could make a substance and quality film.

Nolan is not even my favorite director. Just one of my favorite ones.

He needs to stay away to the most user-friendly company and start making smaller films like Dunkirk again.
