Civil War is tracking huge...bo.com now estimates $180 million opening domestic weekend and a $490 million domestic total.

. Fandango records HIGHER presales for Civil War than for any other Marvel movie at the same stage. Obviously, things can change and I will wait until the official reviews come in, but this looks like a blockbuster. I REALLY doubt Disney will fumble the ball ala WB.

Perhaps the box office champ for 2016? I will update the OP with running totals. Looking for a HUGE opening weekend...with the addition of Spidey, a $200 million domestic opening weekend is in play

I'll go for gold and give this movie a shot at $200+. Given the hype, positive word of mouth early, looks 100x better than AoU, I can see this being pretty huge.

There are already a bunch of reviews on rotten tomatoes. I already have my ticket for the first monday night showing for 7PM in the city at the IMAX on 66th street.

Yeah, I see this hitting a $200m+ opening as well. It's the follow-up to one of the most acclaimed films in the MCU, the critic and audience reactions that we have so far are stellar, and the whole heroes vs. heroes angle gives it a new novelty factor that AoU didn't have. I really can't see it doing worse than AoU at this point.

I'm going for $200+ million. With the predictions so far being pretty high, I'm sure the WOM will push it over; the reactions it's already gotten from critics and fans alike have been pretty amazing. It'll be an interesting weekend when its released, for sure, can't wait to see the numbers roll in.

I think between $160 million - $179.9 million is a safe bet. This film isn't going to make Jurassic World or Force Awakens numbers but it's still going to be hugely popular.
