Overrated Movies

What are some overrated movies?

Last few I watched were surely overrated. There Will Be Blood, Taxi Driver, Shaun Of The Dead.

The MOST overrated of all time, which I have seen, thus far, however, are The Usual Suspects, the Godfather, and 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Overrated movie threads are overrated. Cliched, generic, even the performances are boring, and direction? Pah, what direction! They're just the same thing time and time again.

I'm inclined to agree too, but then again, I've only seen one of the seemingly 50 cuts (the original Director's Cut on DVD). I did buy the digibook Blu because I'm curious about the different cuts. Harrison Ford's acting is ridiculously bad though. Then again,

If nothing else, the movie is a visual masterpiece. It looks awesome, and I'm sure it's been largely influential.

2001 overrated?

Hell, just about every movie is overrated if you look at it the right way. People love Magic Mike but if you can't get past the male stripper part, you would probably feel it is overrated. I think there are some that actually are but haven't we discussed this in a dozen threads before?

Every movie DOES get called overrated on IMDB. But it's kind of crazy that some of the worst movies are rated the highest. 2001 had 20 minutes of story and 2 hours of looking at objects sitting there in space.

Yet some of the worst rated movies are good. I saw a movie called Trance recently, which was pretty good. A lot more entertaining than 2001. Only problems were 1. it started trying oo hard to throw a million twists in at the end and 2. the full frontal nudity was of someone I wasn't attracted to (Rosario dawson).
