Description
PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A FEB 2021 RELEASE BUT APPEARS IN STOCK AS TO NOT OVERSELL THE LIMITED TITLE

“One of the greatest directors of the 1980s, John Landis (The Blues Brothers, Trading Places), expertly combines macabre horror with dark humor in the lycanthropic classic, An American Werewolf in London.

American tourists David (David Naughton) and Jack (Griffin Dunne) are savaged by an unidentified vicious animal whilst hiking on the Yorkshire Moors. David awakes in a London hospital to find his friend dead and his life in disarray. Retiring to the home of a beautiful nurse (Jenny Agutter, Walkabout) to recuperate, he soon experiences disturbing changes to his mind and body, undergoing a full-moon transformation that will unleash terror on the streets of the capital…

An American Werewolf in London had audiences howling with laughter and recoiling in terror upon its cinema release. Landis’ film has gone on to become one of the most important horror films of its decade, rightly lauded for its masterful set-pieces, uniquely unsettling atmosphere and Rick Baker’s truly ground-breaking, Oscar-winning special makeup effects. Now restored and presented with an abundance of extra features, this big beast of horror can be devoured as never before…

Where is the GD 4K release that’s already out in other countries? My guess is Universal is releasing themselves here? Anyone?

Damn, that's kind of weak it's a bluray since i've already triple dipped with this format. Would have been an instant buy if it was the 4k.

Despite there being a wealth of unused official promotional artwork for American Werewolf, this is what they came up with? Absolutely horrible.

That cover art looks like an intern played with clip art in Microsoft Word.

Ugh.

I quite like that, a lot actually. But I'm holding out for an eventual 4K release.

The question is, how many versions of this awesome film do I need?

You need the vhs with the original poster too! I have the old dvd too with the face of the werewolf in mid transformation. You can never have enough versions. :P
I ordered the steelbook through Unobstructed views here in Canada and I had been told 3 times by an employee that they would also have the slipcover. They were wrong, so I missed out on it. I'm still happy to have the steelbook but I really wished I had the slip like you!
