... DO THIS FIRST. Download the latest firmware from Samsung's website, burn it on a CD-R. Bring it to the dealer/retail store and update the Samsung player first. THEN you audition the player.

And for those who have already burned the CD-R, do everyone else the favor - go to any retail store you go to then update the damn players!!!

There's gotta be a better way of ironing these things out.

lol

i will say, i have demoed the sammy a few times. it did not have the firmware that just came out but did have the updated hourglass. so it was that "limbo" firmware. anyway, i thought the picture was fantastic as is. upconversion looked great, and overall i was pretty impressed. i couldn't figure out what all the complaints were about.

i should have my player in a few days, will make sure it is updated, and offer my impressions as they are warranted

Brian has updated both demo players at our store, and I have been sending customers home with the firmware disc. Matter in fact, I need to burn a couple more copies to hand out.

I wish... I could actually care less, I just want happy people with BD players at home. I'm converting many of my co-workers as well, just yesterday, one of them went to buy a Samsung 71" DLP, and I told him the BD player was a must have, so he's picking one up.
