United Kingdom The Adventures of Tintin - October 10th 2011

Pre-order now up at Play, priced at £47.99. At that price I wonder how much of the series it's going to be, it doesn't specify anything but hopefully it'll be a complete set with all 3 seasons. Also doesn't say which studio is releasing it, but I'm guessing it will be Anchor Bay since they distributed the DVDs.

Hope they have new transfers. The DVD release was awful. Also subtitles would be nice so I can watch in French!

If this is indeed the 90s French/Canadian animation, know that some of these have already appeared on BD in France, but they were cropped to 16:9 widescreen, so be wary. I highly doubt the British will have gone in and re-done HD masters in 4:3 OAR. To be honest, I'd be surprised if these were even genuine HD, considering that they (more than likely would have) had to re-scan the animation cels themselves to make HD masters.

Where can you buy the French box and, more important, does it also have the original Dutch/Flemish language?

Unfortunately the french BR of Tintin didn't worth to buy it : pan&scan 16:9 and almost no restoration of the image.

I think the best opportunity is still buying the DVD box. At least you got the 4:3 aspect ratio on this one.

I found an english link here : http://shop.abc.net.au/browse/produc...oductid=727380

But even the french box got the english audio track (5.1) according this (french) test:
http://www.paperblog.fr/3105646/test...res-de-tintin/

You can of course by them on amazon.fr (if you don't be afraid of all the mess with the french version of amazon). This box has both french and english audio tracks (but no english subtitles )
http://www.amazon.fr/Tintin-Lintégr.../dp/B001GP03AK

Or the english box (with only the english audio) : http://www.amazon.com/Adventures-Tin...1715582&sr=1-4

About the flemish version, I never heard about it. Didn't look further actually.

The 90s cartoon was a France/Canada co-production, so technically, both the English and French audio would be "original" and any Dutch or Flemish tracks would be DUBs.

Sounds very much like the French version which I'd prefer to pick up as it looks nicer and no age ratings

I live in Sweden and is a great fan of Tintin.
Don't know when the Blu-ray movies will come out in Sweden.
Guess I have to wait for mkv rip on the net.

Why don't you just import it? the UK ones are Region B which is the same as Sweden (and Continental Europe).

Or are you waiting for Swedish Dub/Subs?
