I have no affiliation to James Berardinelli's Reelviews website, but just wanted to show some appreciation to a film critic who has been a guide to me for the past 20 years or so and was the first film critic who opened my eyes to the world of film.
His website is the first page I visit when I open my browser. Back in the early days of IMDB, on the 'External Reviews' page he would always be the 2nd link in the list of reviewers, underneath Roger Ebert. I was never particularly a fan of Ebert's reviews and have always preferred James's. I don't always agree with his film ratings, but usually they are a close match for my taste in movies. He's the reason I saw Hunger Games: Catching Fire and The Lego Movie (both given 3.5/4), which I wouldn't have done otherwise. I look forward to all his reviews and long may they continue! |
