Just arrived from Amazon and I've put it on.
Approx 20 minutes in and there's awful sound dropouts, sound crackling. I've done all the usual checks and replayed but exactly the same. Anyone watched theirs yet? Wondering if it's a general issue or just mine. Last edited by BigNickUK; 05-27-2021 at 09:28 PM. |

There's no Samsung OLEDS. Also, I think certain Samsung soundbars are very vulnerable to interference from other devices.

I’ll bet cash money that if you switch to another language track (yes, I know they’re not English, it’s just for testing purposes) the crackling and dropouts are gone. |

But for someone like me who has no clue on the tech specs of sound etc..... Where does that leave someone like me. I can't afford to upgrade just for the sake of one film. Surely I'm not the only person who will have this issue. |

Unfortunately there is no solution other than buying equipment that’s compatible, which as you say is highly impractical for one movie. |

You could also try switching to PCM output, if that's an option with your setup. I.e. have the player decode the audio and maybe even downsample while doing so. Or maybe try switching to lossy.
Funny enough, my Oppo player (not sure if it was/is the 83, 93 or both) was (and still is till this day) choking on decoding the DTS-HD MA track of the original My Fair Lady BD and causes some loud crackling. One of the MediaTek DTS issue discs... |
