Huh. May have to check this out. I'm sure it's fairly mediocre, but the trailer was OK. And I am already paying for it in a sense.

Does Netflix accept every project they get in their inbox?

This played the midnight movie slot at many a film festival last year (including TIFF), which generally means it's something worthwhile. Plus, it's free if you've already got NetFlix, so why not?

I do agree the trailer underwhelms. Pretty much looks like a loose remake of Rituals.

I watched this last night and thought it was really good, one of the few horror films which Netflix has bought as an exclusive, which I would have been happy to pay for on the big screen. It's well acted and and written and unlike many Netflix horror films, it has excellent production values. The film starts off conventionally enough with four men getting lost in the woods, but the trailer doesn't show anything from the last act, when it turns into a full on
[Show spoiler] monster movie. Though Scandinavian rather than Native American, the creature appears to be something like a Wendigo and it is genuinely strange.

Glad to see Netflix picked this up. I’ve been waiting for this since last summer when the trailer originally dropped.

Will get around to watching it this weekend.

Just finished it and really enjoyed it. I wouldn't say it brings anything new to the table but it's beautifully shot and the creature design was really impressive

Watched this last night and thoroughly enjoyed it but I gotta say I was more invested in the first two acts than the ending. Overall though, pretty solid horror flick. Hopefully the average Netflix user doesn't overlook it as another shitty straight to Netflix horror movie.

I agree, I enjoyed it a lot but the third act cost the film some major momentum. The scenery was beautiful, too bad we won't see a blu-ray of it.

That's why I thought the 3rd act worked, it had an
[Show spoiler]awesome monster. I would spoiler that, as for a long time the nature of the thread isn't clear.

But it was there throughout, you saw it in bits and pieces as they were making their way.

Watch it before you knock it, it's quite good...puts the newest Blair Witch to shame.

I gave it a 5, very surprised how effective it was and how much I enjoyed it.

Caught this in the cinema last year (it actually got a wide cinema release here in the UK) and was pleasantly surprised after months of sitting through the trailer that makes it look like your typical grey, drab, "guys trip goes wrong in the woods" horror/thriller. What I got was a stunningly shot film full of luscious mossy-green colour tones and stylish use of urban flashbacks and a folk horror/psychological study mash up that definitely makes an impression when all the crazy shit starts to kick in.

Not the best film of 2017 and not even the best horror of 2017, but definitely one that took me by surprise thanks to the shitty trailer.

I think it's a requirement that every thread for a Netflix film must have someone pining for a blu-ray release of it LOL

The scenery of Sweden and the cinematography warrant it in this case.
