I have a cheap Philips and the channels come in but there not like watching cable. it is like watching a really beat up scratched DVD.
so what's a good antenna that won't break the bank? |

Last suggestion is a good one if you are not to far or have line of sight.
This one (C2) works way better for me, but I have a spot to place it also. The horizontal bars are VHF only, it and the mount are removable. https://www.amazon.com/ClearStream-I.../dp/B007RH5GZI |

As someone who has bought all sorts of antennas ranging from cheap $10 rabbit ears to $50 amplified ones, trust me when I say they are all the same. In fact, I think the cheap rabbit ears tend to work the best for me because you can adjust them when the reception is bad. All those fancy flat antenna or amplified antenna aren't all that adjustable and the signal is really not that much better and when the signal is weak, you can only move them around the room and can't adjust the direction like you could with a rabbit ears. I feel those expensive amplified antennas are just scams as they did NOTHING for me in terms of giving me a better signal. In fact, sometimes I think the amplifier just picks up more noise and thus, degrades the signal as a result.
The "best" antenna would be a roof antenna, but if that's not an option for you like me (because I live in an apartment), then just buy the cheap, plain old-fashioned rabbit ears and save yourself the time and money. |
