A lot of people on the forum who have seen it don’t seem to rate it too highly, but I’m excited to check it out.

Yup, it's excellent. From Garth Marenghi himself. Don't expect a comedy though, this is bleak, dark, twisted psychological horror.

I've watched the trailer about 20 times now, looks fascinating. Like something from an M.R. James nightmare. Cant wait.

Yeah there is some imagery in this film that reminded me of James's The Ash Tree, it wouldn't surprise me if it was an influence because Holness is a big horror buff and obviously the film is an adaptation of one of his short stories. One think I would advise people planning to watch this is to watch it at a time when you can crank the volume up because the score from The Radiophonic Workshop creates this really effective, ominous, creepy soundscape that drives the film just as much as the excellent performances. In fact without the score much of the film would just be shots of Sean Harris walking around a council estate and the surrounding countryside!

Sean Harris is one of the best actors around. Had this locked in when it dropped to £9.99 on amazon in November

Okay, just watched this. Holy crap!

Pretty unique and just what I wanted it to be.

Not trying to put a label on this but if tried to describe if I'd go for:

Avant-garde Jamesian nightmare on steroids with a touch of scary 1970's Public Infomercial, add to that a Soundtrack that truly enhanced and amped up the dread & foreboding tenfold as everything unravels...

One of those really rare flicks I just want to watch again as soon as it had finished. Looking forward to the commentary track, only gripe on this one is that they neglected to put the trailer on the disc. Not usually bothered about such things but the trailer for this is epic.

Can't wait to watch this, probably tomorrow. Any other extras beside commentary?

There's an art gallery and a Matthew Holness short 'Gordon Gets A Gun'

The DVD gets a nice slipcover but the BD gets nowt, shame as the cover art is fantastic, it's a bit of card but...y'know

Cool, short films are always good.
Love it when British actors become directors (see also Gareth Tunley, Paddy Considine) more often than not they make good movies.

Thanks for the info Dickieduvet!
I was wondering what the extras are. This film was an amazing surprise for me, it wonderfully captures the bleak, dreary and dismal landscape of rural Norfolk (where I'm from!).

Am currently sitting here frustrated as despite pre-ordering with Amazon and having Prime, they say it won't arrive for another five days.

Is the short 'A Gun for George'? I think that was the film from a few years back.

I like A Gun For George when I caught it a couple years ago, an added bonus to picking this up.

Looking forward to seeing this. Just found 3 of his short films (Including 'A gun for George') are up on Vimeo if anyone is interested. I'm assuming that Matt himself upped them there given they have production info at the start.

Is there a Region A compatible Blu available for this... or do you need a player that can play Region B discs?
