Default Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege - Out Now

Ubisoft has unveiled a new Rainbow Six game for launch in 2015.

Coming to PS4, Xbox One and PC, Rainbow Six: Siege challenges teams of players to breach a location (such as a house) in the centre of a map, while a rival team tries to keep them at bay. You know, a siege.

It is both a multiplayer and single player title, and much like the early Rainbow Six games, when you die in a level there's no coming back.

It does mean that Ubisoft has given up development of Rainbow Six: Patriots, which was a decision the team made when moving development from the previous generation of consoles to the new one.

The game was unveiled during the Ubisoft press conference, held ahead of this year's Electronics Entertainment Expo.

It is the first Rainbow Six game in seven years.

This one has me excited even though its probably a year away. Demo said it was alpha. Looked farther along than that even if the entire thing was scripted.

I'm really over this dumb trend of having actors pretend to play real people playing a game together.

Lets get real, you will get stuck with your buddy and a 14 year old boy who plays his music max volume over his headset and calls you f****t.

It's hard to believe much of anything about that demo.

Man I hope this game turns out awesome. It really is disappointing though that there is no single player campaign. That's one of Titanfall's cons and I think any game that ships with to legit single player is going to suffer some lost sales to some extent. I really loved playing the hell out of the campaign on R6 Vegas, not to mention the terrorist hunts were so fun. Me and my buddies played a lot of those.

Ubisoft confirmed that this game has a single player campaign last year, and I haven't seen any announcement that says it's been scrapped. If it's been scrapped, I'm not buying. Single player and T-Hunt is a must for a Rainbow Six game.

Marketing on this game is weird.

6 weeks ago I would of guessed a 2016 release after going almost half a year without any news. Now we're shown the different release packages and cover art? Are we looking at a fall release or sooner now?

I think that's a good question. Lets see Sept 1st is MGS5 so I think I'll stay clear of that date, Halo 5 is Oct 27th and COD will likely be a week or two after Halo 5. I don't think that they will want to release this after both Halo 5 and Call of Duty have launched. My guess is before Oct 27th. I think anywhere between the last half of Sept and first two weeks of Oct would be my best guess. I could also see an August release as a possibility, it may depend also on what Ubisoft wants to do with The Division. They will want to give that game some room to breath as well. Although personally I am skeptical that The Division will actually come out in 2015.

The game is supposed to be released in 2015, but who really knows.

I don't like that we haven't seen any campaign footage and no detailed info on co-op.

Ubisoft has announced Rainbow Six Siege will be available worldwide on October 13.

The upcoming shooter will be available in several editions. Currently, these have only been confirmed for Europe, the Middle-East and Asia (EMEA), with American special editions to be announced at a later date.

(Art of Siege Edition) comes with the game, a collector’s box, a Gold Skins Pack for all in-game weapons and a 120-page Tactical Guide detailing Counter Terrorist Units, Operators, weapons, and maps. A Season Pass is not included.

(The Gold Edition) is the Standard Edition of the game along with a Season Pass.

Finally, the Uplay Shop will exclusively stock the (Tactical Elite Edition), which brings together the Art of Siege edition with a Season Pass.

Have we learned anything about this game having a SP campaign or is it strictly a MP game?

It has a SP campaign but is mostly a MP game. I wouldn't expect much out of the SP
