FYI - I did do a search for this, but the results page kept telling me either the word "two" "2" or "ps3" were too short or too common and thus displayed everything.
Anyhow, I'm debating picking up a 40gb PS3 for another room in our home. We currently have an 80gb in our living room. Can anyone with experience shed some light on how to set up the 2nd PS3 without causing interference with the 1st one? (ie. controllers from PS3a keep turning on or affecting gameplay on PS3b) They will be in 2 different rooms, but they are literally on opposite walls from one another. Or is this not a problem because the PS3 is bluetooth and thus the controllers will only mate with the PS3 they are configured for? |

Yeah I think they only mate with the PS3 they register with. Remember that very first time you configured your wireless controller you had to connect to the PS3 usb connector to register

great man I have one about 40 ft from my router and another about 100 ft away and the one 40 gets 99-100% sig , the one downstairs gets 65-82% they both go great for online gaming (probly bc 65-82% of a 30mbps dl speed is alot more than most have coming in) anyway its actaully I think the better deal to buy ps3's rather than standalone's bc the load times, always updates along with the fact that it can also game.

I have 2 PS3s and have had both of them in the some room at the same time, running of course. The only problem I had was my TV's, I have a 60" sxrd and a 40" w3000, both Sonys. The remote controls for the TVs would work both of them at the same time when they were close to each other. But i had no problems with the PS3s.

you slave a controller to a particular ps3 when you connect them with the USB cord the first time; after you then disconnect it, anytime you hit the ps button, it powers up that given ps3.
you can however move controllers from console to console by connecting them to the new console via usb first. |

Only issue I had was that you can't port forward to both if you set up static IPs.
When I set up static IPs and port forward, d/l speed from PSN is several times faster - but I can live without it. supersix14 - 30mbps? Wow - do you have fiber? |
