It was screened at the recent Tribeca film festival this past Sunday. Hopefully this signals a possible 4K UHD disc.

Why would MGM start with 4K UHD discs now; they haven’t done crap.

Our only hope is someone licenses it out.

For some reason, I feel like I heard Criterion already had an older transfer. Maybe they've been waiting for this restoration so they can change deals before they release it. Then again I don't remember exactly where I heard that.

The MGM Blu-Ray is stacked with extras, so I don't know what more Criterion could do with it. A new 4K-remastered Blu-Ray (or a 4K UHD) would be welcome, though.
