Default Frasier (2020)

Frasier is coming back next year Kelsey Grammer has confirmed.

He will star as Frasier, David Hyde Pierce will be back as Niles, as well as Jane Leeves and Peri Gilpin.

No network is confirmed for now though.

Awesome. I've been awaiting an update.

Absolutely love Frasier. Such a witty, funny and warm sit-com.

Awesome! Was wondering if this was still in development. I rewatched the entire series on Netflix about two years ago and had almost forgotten just how great it was. I only hope this will be easy to watch and not relegated to some service I don't have.

John Mahoney's presence will definitely be missed, though.

Wonder if it is going to be another Spectrum revival.

Like Mad About You, I watched bits and pieces of this, mostly in the later seasons since I was only 5 when this premiered, but I was definitely too young to really get the humor even when it was later in the run. I may be interested in watching it all like I did with MAY... when I have time to go through 11 seasons.

Holy moly!
They brought back many shows I loved in the past years, but Frasier (with Roseanne) is absolutely my favorite show ever.

I didn't think they would ever do it, after John Mahoney passed away.

One of my top 5 sitcoms. The writing, casting and performances are absolutely brilliant.

They really ARE going to do "revival" seasons of every moderately popular show from the 80's and 90's, aren't they?

Hopefully this will get the boxsets of Cheers and Frasier out on BD, the HDTV masters of Cheers look fantastic, why they haven't been put out yet is beyond me.

As for the reboot, it's great news.

Cheers & Frasier are my 2 favourite TV shows, even named my boy Sammy after Mr Malone

Interested to see where Frasier is now in his life, I'd be more than surprised if the 1st ep doesn't see him reconnecting with everyone at Martin's funeral

I'm not sure I'd call a show that ran for 11 years and won Emmy after Emmy after Emmy "moderately popular".

That being said... I dunno about this. The past should be left alone.

In that case, Frasier never happened, because Cheers should have been left alone. Right?

Frasier "moderately popular?" LOL!

But even if more revivals you don't understand happen, guess what? You can (*gasp*) just not watch them.

Loved the show. I'm not sure that a new show is needed but if this greases the wheels towards getting the original series on blu then that's good enough for me!

Although, Frasier without John Mahoney.......

Frasier picked up basically straight after Cheers. Not nearly 20 years on. Hardly the same thing.

They should have One of the Cheers cast move in with Frazier for Daphne to take care of. How about Sam Malone? Ted Danson will be available now that The Good Place is ending.

I’m looking forward to it and can understand why they’d want take their time and get it right. I’m reminded of the short lived Back to You, there is no guaranteed success.

And re Back to You, it’s interesting how different things would have been had it actually been a successful long running series. Had it been, two of the most popular shows of recent times (Modern Family & The Middle) would probably never exist or would have been significantly different.
