For some of us old timers, we can remember when certain VHS and Laserdisc titles cost more than $100. That's for a single movie and not adjusted for inflation. Can you imagine paying $150 for your favorite movies? How would your collection look if EACH movie title was $100 or more?
With prices being so cheap, people have a lot of filler in their collections. Movies (and TV shows) - stuff that watched once (or never) and abandoned to the shelf. In my humble opinion, once a collection gets too big and unwieldy, it actually feels less special than having a small collection of films one truly loves. If you were to separate your collection into the stuff you truly love (titles you'd pay through the nose to own) vs the stuff you like but don't really love, what would that look like? |
