Kubrick is the most influential director, and probably better at his peak but i enjoy Spielberg's movies more, they tend to resonate me more and they're the perfect example of escapism and great directing, themes and ideas.

Voted Spielberg.

Kubrick was a master artist, visualist, a painter using celluloid as his canvas. No denying he was one of a kind... but, Spielberg to me achieved being a master storyteller WITH the ability to also be a visualist. Kubrick wasn't quite as keen on storytelling or narrative structures. He made art that moved. I voted Spielberg.

why do I have to make these choices?!!!

Spielberg made my favorite film of all time (Jaws) and made films that I absolutely love such as E.T., Duel, Indiana Jones Last Crusade, Close Encounters... etc.

Kubrick I admire tremendously and rated him above Scorcese in another poll..but the fact of the matter is that Spielberg's resume delivers more enjoyment to me...
