Be interesting to see how this works as a TV show, but the trailer just seems like a lower budget version of the film but without any of the edge.

I enjoy the purge franchise and hope this is good. The new prequel movie is horrible though. It plays every cliche imaginable of an action/horror movie and offers absolutely nothing new or even interesting to not just the franchise but as a movie in general.

Do you think the movies will be required viewing to understand what is going on in the show? I still haven't seen any of these films.

Set ten years after The First Purge. One night a year, all crime - including murder - is legal. Might be a few easter eggs here & there, but that's really all you should need to know.

I really enjoyed this first episode tonight. I liked how virtually the entire episode took place just hours and minutes before the Purge begins. This really helped build up the various character’s stories. From this first episode, it looks like a promising series. I also felt it was a lot better than the last Purge movie from this summer.

Repeating on USA & SyFy several times this week.

Really good first episode, felt very "Purge-y". Some good new concepts added in,

Would be nice to see a tiny bit of crossover with the movies, just a cameo or two, maybe later in the season. They're off to a good start, though.

I thought it was decent enough so far. Some good violent scenes, which is what I want from this sort of show. lol
