Hoping we get a steelbook so I can get the Blu-ray and UHD included together. I'm still not sure when I'll be able to upgrade my setup and I want to future-proof as much of my collection as possible.
Warner Bros. Pictures’ new experience in the world of M. Night Shayamalan – Trap – featuring performances by rising music star Saleka Shayamalan, arrives for purchase and rental Digitally at home on August 30. The film will also be available to purchase on 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD on November 5.
On August 30, Trap will be available for early Premium Digital Ownership at home and for 48-hour rental via PVOD on participating digital platforms where you purchase movies, including Amazon Prime Video, AppleTV, Google Play, Fandango At Home, and more.
On November 5, Trap will be available to own on 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD. Trap will also continue to be available to own in high definition and standard definition from participating digital retailers.
Written and directed by M. Night Shayamalan, Trap stars Josh Hartnett, Ariel Donoghue, Saleka Shayamalan, Hayley Mills and Allison Pill. The film is produced by Ashwin Rajan, Marc Bienstock and M. Night Shayamalan. The executive producer is Steven Schneider.

And they seemingly want to sell as little physical copies as possible by pushing the date that far. But of course, their main ROI is through digital sadly.
Really pleasantly surprised to see this gorgeously shot film (courtesy of the brilliant Sayombhu Mukdeeprom) being released on a BD-100 when it’s not the longest and doesn’t have hours of bonus features. Looking forward to that sweet grain and his impeccable colors in all its glory.
Hartnett really gets a chance to shine in this. I'd love it for that alone, but it's just a fun movie overall. I definitely wouldn't recommend going into it with the expectation of another Sixth Sense or Village, but I had a good time watching this in theaters. Looking forward to the 4K next week.

This film is atrocious and clearly a way for M. Night to boost his daughter's singing career (which the soundtrack has bangers I might add), but I still had fun watching this in theaters.
More power to him, the movie should look how he (and the DP and the colorist) want it to look, but frankly I think it should be more acceptable for studios to just put movies out in SDR on UHD. Some boutique labels have done this, but big labels should do it too in cases like this where the director doesn't want it.

If it's not like Sixth Sense or the Village, which of his other movies would you compare it to or is that even really an option? I know people really give M Night crap for "the twist" or his movies in general like OLD, Knock at the Cabin, and some of his others, but given the option I would rather have more of his movies out than less. For example I thought The Happening was an interesting premise, just maybe could have been done differently or maybe without Wahlberg. I think Tarantino does the opposite, like he's almost afraid to put out more movies.

This film doesn't compare to any of his movies. Maybe "The Happening" for how silly it is.
