the rock band guitar has another 5 buttons towards the body of the guitar similar to that one...
i wonder if its compatible with guitar hero and rock band?

My biggest question is if it REALLY IS compatible with Guitar Hero I and II...cause I would love it!

I just emailed ezGear to see if they actually tested this with GH1 and 2 or if they're just blowing smoke.

I have guitar hero 2 game for the PS2. I pop it into my PS3 with my wireless guitar I got with Guitar hero 3, but when I start the game the guitar cuts out. I hope they fix that on a future update.

They have no plans to do so, that I've heard anyway.

I've used my Guitar Hero II controller on my PS3 to play Guitar Hero II. I used a RadioShack PS2 to USB converter (had it for using PS2 controller on my PC). The up and down are reversed (makes menus annoying, but doesn't affect in game play) and the whammy bar doesn't function.

I never could get mine to work, and besides...I'd like something that's fully functional. Up and down being reversed wouldn't matter, but I want my whammy bar AND my tilt sensor.

Has anyone tried the Pelican PS2 to PS3 controller adapter with Guitar Hero 1 or 2 on PS3? Pelican advertises that it is compatible with PS2 guitars on PS3, and it even has a switch on the side to specifically choose GH1 or 2.

I have two of the adapters - bought them for arcade sticks. I own Rock Band, which is freakin' amazing, but none of the Guitar Hero games. I'd like to start picking up the GH games, but I don't really want to buy 20 guitar controllers in the process. Is there one GH controller that actually works with all 3 games?

By the way, Activision kind of sucks with the way they're handling the whole guitar compatibility issue.

Update: I got an email back from ezgear stating that the guitar DOES NOT WORK for GH1 or 2

I have Rock Band and Guitar Hero II for 360, and I hate the fact that the RB guitar isn't compatible with GHII. I like that controller so much better than the x-plorer guitar.

I have the Pelican converter and it doesn't work one bit. I tried both GH1 and GH2 settings and my GH2 controller just didn't work at all with it.

The Pelican converter didn't work for me either and I returned it...I've heard of a few people getting it to work somewhat, but I don't want something that SORT OF works.

Pelican works fine, but no star power, have to press select. All you do is switch to GH2 mode and it works, but you wont see the colors u are pressing, just press and strum and it works, that is how i do co-op with my g/f now! may miss some notes, but works fine by me, especially since i can use my ps2 controller as another controller until the dualshocks come out, (hint if you press the analog part of the controller and hold it, it acts like the PS button).

The Pelican works perfectly with Guitar Hero 1 by the way. Whammy bar, tilt sensor, the whole she-bang.
