I'll wager Eternals drops somewhere between 50% and 100%

I'm also confidently predicting we'll see at least 20 "OMG the sky is falling"-style posts before the weekend is over.

#Eternals remains #1 FRI with $7.8M falling a big 75% from opening day FRI. That's higher than #ShangChi's 67% and in line with #Venom2's 76%. Breaks $100M domestic today. 2nd wknd #boxoffice may be headed to about $28M.

WB might have to get creative in order to get Dune over that magic nine figure threshold.

It looks like a steep hill right now. I do wish they would consider an IMAX re-release in January or February, perhaps as part of an Oscar campaign.

I'd watch it again, even if I wasn't crazy about it.

Dune will make about 5 million this weekend for a ~ 93 million total. I think it'll get to 100 million rather easily.

Looks like Eternals is going to do $27m for the weekend. Not bad. Maybe that means it caps out at about $150m domestic?

Not even 10 days of release and it's already in the top 10 for the year

That's not a Black Widow level dropoff, but it's not good. Next weekend it has to contend with Afterlife and King Richard. Maybe it recovers a little the week after that because of Thanksgiving, but this is looking like it'll top off at no more than 400 mil worldwide.

Your reminder that all the Marvel movies combined had already grossed $1.2 billion in 2021, even before Eternals was released.

Add the Eternals and Spider-Man, and it will be well over $2 billion worldwide for 2021. And that's while still in the middle of a pandemic.

Who's a good boy? Who's a good boy?

Especially with a hybrid release.
