Well A24 is releasing it also and that will be English friendly. This would be cheaper I expect though.

Can anyone tell me if the German release is completely English friendly or if it has any forced German on-screen text or misses English subtitles for scenes in foreign languages?

Fairly certain the English subtitles are the descriptive ones. So yes, you get the dialogue, but you also get things like *ruffles papers on desk* and stuff too.

Thank you but this was not what I meant. What I wanted to know is if it is possible to watch film on the German 4k disc completely in English or if there are any localizations in the used master and if separate English subtitles are available for passages, where languages other than English are spoken (If this even occurs in the movie. I have not seen it, yet.).

The movie has quite a bit of dialogue in Mandarin and Cantonese. There's also a section where the dialogue is communicated entirely through subtitles, along with intertitles and other on-screen text, and all of it is in German.

So yeah, you can technically watch it with the English SDH subtitles, but it's far from ideal. Just get the US disc or stream it.
