well, it says clearance above the price, and no new model to replace it...

HD-DVD players on clearance seems to be happening very fast in the USA. Let's hope that this is the end of this unsophisticated format. Is Toshiba's mind being made up for them???

Toshiba

HD-DVD

The trend will continue. Look for a big bomb to be dropped soon in retail.

I still find it funny that the so called 'cheap chinese players' are more expensive than Toshiba's own models. And they wonder why their format failed.

The Venturer is just a rebadged A3. If you look at videos from last years Cedia, it's the exact same player.

What kind of tv would you be running if you used a Venture HD DVD player. That's why HD DVD is going to lose because the people buying these crappy machiens (Venture) dont give a tinkers damn about home theater.

obviously just a glitch with the system. pricing errors happen all the time. everybody but the blubots knows wal mart sells more hd dvd then blu-ray could possibly imagine, nielsens get really skewed cause wal mart isnt included. the real ratio is more like 55:45, tops its 60:40.
