Pirates of the Caribbean series (2003-2017) vs Transformers series (2007-2017)

It's kinda funny how these two have a bit in common, other than, y'know, franchises known for fantastic special effects yet overlong, overtly formulaic storytelling, and questionable stereotypes.

1st film- Main villain dies as he falls on his backside.
-Barbossa shot through the chest, Megatron allspark to the chest

2nd film - Jack and Optimus die. Barbossa and Megatron come back to life
domestic box office POTC2 423 million, ROTF 402 million

3rd film - Biggest/longest final battle of the series. Both films were originally intended to be the end of their series which is why so many of the primary characters/villains die.

4th film- Completely new cast surrounding the series' two main stars (Jack & Barbossa, Optimus & Bee). Both films considered the odd-duck of the series.

5th film- Riding the new wave of female-lead franchise movies by pushing new female protagonists into the forefront who play the most important role in the story (Carina & Viviane). Carina: Daughter of Barbossa, Viviane: Descendant of Merlin.
Both films do major sequel baiting with their post credits scene.
Both films bring back supporting characters from the 1st 3 films that were absent in part 4. POTC: Will, Elizabeth, Jack's crew etc. TF: Lennox, Simmons, Barricade, Wheelie.
