is there a good quality release of this anywhere? Apparently, the Uk release is terrible. Does anyone know about the italian or swedish releases?

Looks like Umbrella is rolling out another blu ray in March. It doesn't mention anything about a new scan, etc. I have to assume it's the same lame transfer as the old UK blu ray, unless we hear otherwise.

Wow just watching the UK release and can't believe how awful it looks - should have stuck with the DVD! Anyway be interesting to see how the Umbrella release looks.

I have just received my copy of the new australien release from Umbrella. The same shitty picture quality as the old UK Blu-Ray. Beautiful packaging with booklet, slipcover, poster and photo cards...but not worth the price if you have the UK release. I´m very disappointed! Seriously this looks more like a bad DVD...

Damned disappointing! I'm waiting for my shipment notification from Umbrella for this and Dead End Drive-In. What was 'ils' shot with, same equipment as 'Frontiere(s)'? Is it an aesthetics thing or do the French just cannot afford real cameras?

I wish Umbrella had invested more money in a new picture restoration. I own thousands of discs from all over the world but THEM has by far the worst picture quality. Hopefully no one is saying this is what the whole thing should look like! Extremely blurry, grainy, washed out colors - almost more like an old VHS than an upscaled DVD!

Yes, I’ve seen the fan rip inserting them back into the film. If you haven’t, I’d recommend trying to find it online and have a look…quite awesome I must say (as a totally biased F13th fan).

It looks the way it does because it was shot on digital video. And that the whole film is set at night makes this aspect even worse. It's why I never upgraded the UK blu-ray and why I'll be sticking with the UK DVD. That also has plenty of extras too.

Yep! Just got my preorder from DiabolikDVD. Thankfully I did not get the 'ultimate' package. This is by far the lamest BD ive ever seen. I foolishly placed my preorder believing that this would be from a good source, but its not. I did a comparison with my dvd and its basically the same. Its also worse in the subtitle department. Its actually CC. Very stoopid of Umbrella.

Anyone else notice the 5.1 track has the L/R channels swapped on the Umbrella release? Most obvious place to notice is the off-screen phone call at 23m36s, but it seems to be throughout the whole film. Was this a problem on the previous release?

The 2.0 tracks sounds correct, at least.
