In case anyone is thinking of doing the same, I tried to use the RW 10% code alongside a £10 Rewards Points balance, but it won't stack. It's one or the other.

Edit: Does anyone know of any codes for the WB store?

There is 15% if you sign up to their newsletter, i don't know if it works with pre-orders. I've not used WB shop, do charge credit card for pre-orders on delivery or order?

I tried that one. It doesn't seem to work with pre-orders.

I don't know about charges. I've not used them before. I'll be using PP.

Such great news this is finally landing on Blu-ray. I was actually going to start a rewatch on Amazon Video. But now I have to hold off a bit longer. It will be worth it!

Never seen the show beyond the first episode many many years ago.

Such a big fan of Deep Space Nine that I think I will take the risk and buy this.

I was coming from Star Trek fandom back in the day and after a a lot of getting used to B5 it has become my favorite sci-fi show.

I still love Trek, especially DS9 but B5 is imo tighter told and more dramatic.

B5 does certain things better, DS9 does other things better. We’re incredibly fortunate that both exist and lived to tell their stories.

Standard advice for anyone watching B5 for the first time; avoid spoilers, and give the show a full season. Some of the show’s bigger story pieces will be evidently in motion by then, whereas a lot happens that’ll just go straight over your head earlier on.

I'd add season 2 is where it really gets going when Boxleitner joins the crew.
So be patient with season 1, which I think is great too.

So with this, then the new "film", what other sets are needed to have the complete B5 on disc (even if it's DVD)?

I loved that France had the complete Battlestar with EVERY version - the film, the show, the spinoffs and Battlestar 80.

In the Beginning
River of Souls
Thirdspace
A Call to Arms
Crusade
Legend of the Rangers
The Lost Tales

All in this set:

Even though you wouldn’t need the series, or The Gathering, it may still be cheaper just to get this set than try to pick up each individually.

Thanks for posting this - my DVD set is still unopened so this is really useful to have.

Do Rarewaves charge for pre-orders when you place the order or on dispatch?

If you become a completist you'll also need the original pilot The Gathering not the edited one that fits better with the series that is on most releases. Believe it was released on a German DVD.

It's the default European one, the original UK release with the SE was quietly replaced years ago. The one in the box set picured above is the original version.

Didn't realise that, I had the region 1 DVD sets, but remember getting the German DVD for the original version of The Gathering with the extra scene of a zoo or something

You can totally understand why JMS cut that out.

I'm still very fond of the original cut though, especially the early 90s soundtrack. It's not Franke, but it's its own thing.
