I have just over 300 blu-rays in my collection (not as much as the library-loads that several other members here have, but I'm trying to be judicious), and it just occurred to me that in that entire collection I have only one instance where I own the original and the remake:
War of the Worlds (1953) Byron Haskin War of the Worlds (2005) Spielberg In almost every other case (Carpenter's 'The Thing' excepted) I'm not at all interested in remakes and own only the original. Was wondering how "remake-heavy" other people's collections are. Or maybe there are others who prefer only the remakes and not the originals, for various reasons. |
