I know about the behind-the-scenes drama, but honestly, Howard has more personality as Rhodey. Cheadle has been a waste of screen time, which shocked me when I saw Iron Man 2 because he is usually a very good actor.

Howard. He wasn't great in the first Iron Man, but Cheadle really sucked in Iron Man 2. He was marginally better in the third one, but not enough to justify the recasting. Unless it was over money in which case why did Marvel bother going with Howard in the first place?

It was over money. Howard wanted almost double his original salary for the second movie and they ditched him

Howard all the way. I like Cheadle as an actor but he just doesn't fit the buff action man role very well.

I voted for Cheadle. It's funny though how little he looks like the actor he replaced. Same goes for all the other recasting in the MCU.

Terrence Howard was best as Rhodey. I just don't feel like Cheadle fit the role as well as Howard did.
