Default RIP Fred Ward of Tremors, The Right Stuff, Escape from Alcatraz and more

https://variety.com/2022/film/news/f...235266338/amp/

Sad news. I remember rewatching Tremors 1 and 2 over and over as a kid
. Always hoped he would reunite with Kevin Bacon to take on graboids again one day

Man...... one of those actors who always works.

Liked when he was the father in Road Trip. Still a hard-ass.

Rest In Peace.....left a good legacy.

Default The Right Stuff

Ward definitely had 'The Right Stuff' in a number of roles, but the two films with Philip Kaufman, TRS and Henry & June, along with Miami Blues, rank at the top for me.

Godspeed to the big soundstage in the sky.

oh man RIP

Remo Williams one of my all time favorites!
Great in Sweet Home Alabama
of course Tremors and The Right Stuff

The movies may not have always been great but Fred Ward was always great in them.

edit: I forgot about another one of his great supporting roles [like in Sweet Home Alabama] Enough the Jennifer Lopez film. The scenes with Fred and Jennifer were great.

RIP, always loved Fred Ward. One of my kittle know favorites of his was the HBO film "Cast a Deadly Spell", where he plays Lovecraft the Detective ....... directed by Martin Campbell. Would sure be nice if one day some of these HBO films made it to Blu ray.

He was in a ton of the movies I watched growing up. He'll always be Earl G*dd*mn Basset to me. Pardon my French.

Thank you for the many hours of entertainment, Fred.

I’m so sad to see this news. I didn’t see a lot of his roles but I loved him in Tremors. I too was waiting for them to bring back Val and Earl.

It’s one my favorite series and I think he would have returned if he was well.

Sad news. His presence in a film always gave it a boost. He was especially talented in making a characters flaws seem real. He'll be missed.
