Help redeeming a UK Google Play digital code in North America?

I know with US/Canadian ones you can just put gl=US or gl=CA in the URL and it will fix it but I attempt with gl=UK ot gl=GB and it doesn't seem to work.

Anybody know the URL syntax needed?

Wonder why it wasn't working for me before.

Maybe because I had the code attached to it in the URL so I needed to redeem it seperately.

The other option is, if you don't have Google Pay set up and you use a VPN, then it'll recognize as if you're from the country activated on your VPN. It can be useful to download apps country/region-locked.
