I HIGHLY recommend if anyone wants to see the REAL Cats which is AMAZING, forget this bad film and go straight for the Broadway version...

Can't wait to unzip my skin and sit back with a popcorn tub full of cockroaches as I give this perfectly sane film another view.

I for one, cannot wait......

.....to never see this in my life.

I do imagine it might be playing hell when I'm dead though.

No knock on any fans of this, there have to be some somewhere.
If you care to know my reasoning, check out this previous post which brought it to my mind. That was from the Child's Play remake thread since someone called that the worst film of the year.

I honestly did enjoy watching this as well. It's such a bizarre roller coaster of a misfire. For a movie that's apparently awful, James Corden was still the least tolerable thing about it.

Second worst thing was the use of catnip in the movie. It's like they finally pushed the camp an inch too far. I wanted to yell out to everyone in the theater like Kathy Bates in Misery, "Catnip doesn't make cats fall asleep! Catnip doesn't do that!!"

And Ian McKellan gives an actually really good performance in his small bittersweet melancholy role. Somehow his legit good performance surrounded by this madness made it even funnier to me.

I still don't know if I'll want to view this a second time. Maybe I will by the end of this year and it can be found for very cheap.

Are 'easter egg' extras still a thing for blu like in the earlier 2000s on some dvds? If so, it'd be kind of amusing if there were 'hidden' bonus features like a rifftrax or similar thing.

VFX might be in that Little Magic featurette. And I'm sure Hooper will talk about it plenty in the commentary.

But if Universal somehow thinks talking about Digital Fur Technology is embarrassing because of how poorly it was received, I guess that makes sense.
