Lionsgate has set The Expendables: Extended Director's Cut, Heavenly Creatures: The Uncut Version, Velvet Goldmine and City of God for Blu-ray Disc release on 12/13 (SRP $24.99 for Expendables and $19.99 for the rest).
That will be followed up by She's All That and Serendipity on Blu-ray on 1/3/2012 (SRP $14.99 each).
The Expendables: EDC will include 11 minutes of additional footage, a newly-recorded introduction to the film by director Sylvester Stallone, a featurette on Stallone's directing career, the Inferno feature-length documentary on the making of the film, plus Spike TV's Action: The Expendables and a Godsmack music video. Just Heavenly Creatures for me. I bought the Canadian version of City Of God a while ago. This version will probably the same.

Shes all that and Serendipity would both be release day purchases for me, but ive learned over the last 6 months Lionsgate distributed miramax titles drop in price to the 5 dollar to 8 dollar level a few weeks after release.
So i will hold off a few weeks.

Now come on Lionsgate get us a bluray of Kate and Leopold

In for Heavenly Creatures and Velvet Goldmine. The only problem is I've been spoiled by their recent slate of releases that I've been able to pick up for $10; it's become my price point for LG catalog releases. Hopefully AMZ will have them around that price come release.

Shakespeare in Love was atrocious. Also, how do you give the Best Director Oscar to Spielberg for Saving Private Ryan and then not give it Best Picture, but instead give it to the sappy Shakespeare in Love? That will always be the worst point of Academy history for me personally.

Shakespeare in Love was a great film, deserving of a Best Picture Oscar. Was it more deserving than Private Ryan? That's up for debate - both were great films.
But to give best director to one film and best pic to another is not unheard of; it happens more than you think (look it up).

The worst point of Academy history? Giving any award whatsoever to Million Dollar Baby or A Beautiful Mind, much less Best Picture awards.

I forget, who owns the rights to Kill Bill again? Is it Lionsgate/Miramax or did The Weinstein Company retain ownership?
