I was watching the trailer for the sequel yesterday, and I was thinking whether or not the first would get a 4K release.

Also Quick And The Dead? What else is on that list?

I'm not usually an action movie guy, but I did find this entertaining. It helps that Denzel is pretty much great in whatever he does though.

I thought the blu ray looked great. There are some wicked scenes in The Equalizer, but I doubt I'll double dip for the 4K.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing.

And keep in mind the year isn't over yet, we're not even halfway. God knows what else is in store for us. I have a feeling that by the end of the year, lots and lots of excellent catalogue titles will have been released. I think most of us will be spending Christmas dinner over at McDonald's or something this year.

This is a decent movie and looked stellar on bluray. In Sony's hands, I'm sure they'll up it a few notches for the UHD. I'll probably double dip for this if it's around $20 or include it in amazon's 3 for $50 deal.

That proposal makes a lot of sense, so i could see Sony issuing the UK cut version on UHD instead. Supposedly, a UHD release didn't stop Universal from issuing the UK cut version of The Fate of the Furious / Fast and Furious 8, and The Equalizer was cut in more than one country, though not in the same way.

The irony would be if the sequel has any BBFC hot-button issues and has to be 18 outright, then Sony offers a two-pack at 18 but with the first film still cut at 15.
