Default Invasion Sold out at Wally's World

Well I went to Wal Mart and Target today and oddly enough both of them had a very differnt selection. It should be noted that Blu Ray has WAY more titles for sale from both stores (GO BLU!) and I was looking to get Shoot 'Em up or The Invasion today. I couldn't get either until I went far out to Wal Mart, where they too were sold out of The Invasion but had Shoot 'em Up for 30 dollars.

I actually ended up getting the Resident Evil Trilogy for about 55 dollars instead, lol. But I suppose I'll end up trying to trade out my 3:10 to Yuma for Shoot 'EM up because it doesn't work on my player.

Interesting. I went to Target this morning right after they opened. They didnt' have any copies, not even a space for it and they only had about 6 copies of the DVD out. Looks like Target isn't expecting this to sell well at all.

Just to add, at the Target where my brother-in-law works, they have 12 feet of shelf/endcap space for BD and 3 feet for HD-DVD. It's not that drastic at other Targets, but there definitely seems to be more space allocated for BD in general.

In my area, BB had plenty of The Invasion on blu-ray (and unfortunately, had the HD DVDs as well -- not delayed like it was supposed to be). CC only had it on blu-ray but I only saw 3 copies.

At my walmart they have an endcap that used to be half and half, HD and Blu ... there are like 10 slots from left toright and maybe 8 down .... totaling like 80 possible spots for individual movies...

I kid you not, out of 80 slots the HD has been reduced to 3 lol.

I got the last copy of The Invasion on BD at Best Buy, but they had like a dozen copies of it on HD DVD (and a hand written tag for it as well, which I thought was kind of strange). Sad thing was when I got in line, I was behind someone buying it on HD DVD-- he was trying to price match it but didn't have physical proof, so I showed the clerk my printout from Amazon showing the lower price. He noticed I had it on Blu-ray, and said he couldn't find it on that or he would have bought it. Bah. At least I saved him from paying too much for the HD DVD version.

Haven't seen it myself, but Mr. Peter Bracke doesn't seem to like the movie itself very much, but does give it good PQ & SQ.

Read more here:

Of course, I don't completely agree with Mr. Bracke all the time.

I rented The Invasion(blu-ray) from BlockBuster Total Access because I haven't seen it yet plus from the looks of the cover it looks like an old film and most likely different film was used for filming so that means film grain will be in it.

I don't understand why everyone thinks this is a terrible movie...it's probably because they enjoy one of the previous iterations of the film so they see this as a crappy movie. I don't think it's a great film, but it was ok and it definitely wasn't terrible. I saw it in the theater and I won't be buying it, but there will be some who like it.

it's seriously underrated. works better as a psychological thriller than a suspenseful one.
